I’ve got a new series out and I’m excited about it! Every other Sunday, from now until the end of the season, I’ll be posting an @overwatchleague team inspired macaron! Today, my first, is @bostonuprising. This team has been my team from day one season one. I love these boys so much and I’m so proud of them! These lemon and blueberry macarons are dedicated to them. And hey, they won today! Congratulations, boys! #bostonup
Well, my first round of kolaches was a HUGE success. In fact, such a big success that I’m not sure I need much more tweaking. Obviously, I’d like to experiment with sweet as well as savory, but I think the dough is nailed down. .
It’s amazing how much your past experiences can affect the future. I found 4 different kolache recipes, adjusted mine to be what I felt within the nuances of those 4, and they turned out beautifully. All my past baking has created a well of knowledge and intuition that I can pull from. This makes future projects so much quicker and more enjoyable! What knowledge are you trying to build on for future projects?
Did some experimentation today with bread. I was dealing with some unexpected time constraints, and while I’d normally just not bake because of that, I had 2 loaves to bake for @teriharman. So I did a 20% leaven that was only 50% ready, gave it some extra squeezing after the rest, and left it for 4.5 hours. When I got home I gave it one coil turn, 1 bench shape, and then shaped the loaves. I’m actually incredibly surprised with how they look! Almost like my normal loaves. Can’t wait to cut into them and check out the crumb!
